Your plan stays on this device
DebtFree Now is an offline debt planner. You do not need an app account, email address or password. Debt entries, payment history, milestones and preferences are saved in app storage on your device. In the browser, they are saved in that browser’s local storage. There is no cloud account or synchronization service.
Backups and deletion
Use Settings to export a readable backup of your debts, payment history and preferences. It contains financial information, so share and store it carefully. An OpenAI key is never included. To remove this device’s plan, choose Delete plan on this device in Settings and confirm. Clearing browser site data or Android app storage also removes the local plan. Copies you export are separate files and must be managed separately. There is no app-provided cloud backup. Reinstalling or changing devices may lose your plan.
Optional AI requests
Core planning does not need AI or an Internet connection. If you enter your own OpenAI API key and tap the request control, a financial summary of debt totals, payments, interest rates and strategy is sent directly to OpenAI for general educational suggestions. OpenAI processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy and may charge your account. The key stays in app memory for the current session and is not saved with your plan. Requests do not run automatically. Do not enter account numbers or other sensitive details into debt names or notes.
Local reminders
If you enable reminders in Settings and grant device permission, this device schedules a daily check-in at 9 AM local time. This is a local reminder, not a lender due-date alert or a remote push service. Delivery depends on Android permissions and device settings. You can disable it in Settings. Scheduled reminders are not available in the web planner.
Optional website email updates
The website may offer a separate email signup with explicit consent and its own linked privacy notice. Joining that list does not create an app account or upload your saved debt plan. Website email subscriptions and unsubscribe links are independent of deleting your device plan. Normal hosting request logs and the email provider’s processing are separate from offline app storage.
